SpeedCheck.DEV is a modern internet speed test built around a simple idea: measuring your connection should be fast, accurate, and easy to understand. Instead of throwing raw numbers at you, we turn your results into a clear quality score and plain-language guidance about what your connection can actually handle.

What we measure

Every test reports the four metrics that matter most for real-world use:

• Download speed — how quickly you can pull data from the internet (streaming, browsing, downloads).
• Upload speed — how quickly you can send data (video calls, cloud backups, posting content).
• Ping — the latency, or responsiveness, of your connection, which is critical for gaming and calls.
• Jitter — the variation in latency, which determines how stable real-time applications feel.

Why we built it

Most speed tests show a couple of numbers and leave you to figure out what they mean. We wanted something better: a tool that feels premium, works beautifully on mobile, and explains your results in terms of the things you actually do online — 4K streaming, online gaming, video calls, remote work, large downloads, and cloud backup.

How it works

When you start a test, your browser briefly exchanges data with a high-capacity test server to measure throughput in both directions, then sends a series of lightweight requests to calculate ping and jitter. We discard the initial “warm-up” period and use averaged measurements so your result reflects real performance rather than a momentary spike.
